It won't do much to protect it against a fall, but it does help improve the grippiness of the glass and guards against scratches when I put it down on a hard surface. I love the design, it just looks interesting and classy. I also like that it helps my (rather expensive) phone not scream "IPHONE!" when people look at it briefly anymore.
Now for some practical reviews: putting on the skin was a little tricky. Lining it up perfectly was a bit of a chore, I probably removed it and replaced it five or six times. However, the skin didn't lose stickiness through all this, so if you're a bit obsessive (like me), don't worry about it not staying put after you've finally gotten it attached. The edge without the buttons is a little hard to get even with the edge with the buttons on the sides, but if you're careful, you can eyeball it pretty well. MAKE SURE you line up the top part of the front skin perfectly, or it'll impact either the camera or the light sensor (both Bad Things tohave happen). Other than that, I love my skin! Also note, you can keep the packaging it came in, remove it, put it back, and it'll still be good if you ever want to change the look of your iPhone.
